The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is one of the best places to see cheetahs hunting. Now an identification project is helping visitors get more from sightings – and at the same time contributing to science.
Join us for a talk on the cheetahs of the Kgalagadi by Dr Matthew Schurch. He will explain how the Kgalagadi Cheetah Identification Project came about and share pictures of the park’s iconic cats. Find out what photographs are telling researchers about cheetahs in the park and learn how to ID a spotted cat.
Date: Wednesday 26 October
Venue: Cape Union Mart Adventure Centre Canal Walk
Time: 18:15 for 18:30
RSVP: [email protected] (subject: Kgalagadi cheetahs) by 21 October 2016
This event is FREE but seats are limited so please RSVP to secure yours. Complimentary refreshments will be served and Wild Card members earn 10% discount on shopping at the store.
It’s a pity we live in Port Elizabeth as we don’t get the opportunity to experience talks such as Dr Matthew Schurch on identification of the Cheetahs of Kgalagadi Project. We shall be visiting the Park soon, how can we find out more information about this project?
Thank you for the Top 10 Tips for visiting the Kgalagadi most informative.
It would be wonderful if these types of presentations could be done via Webinar for remote and future viewing by us poor soles far away !! It could actually also give an extended income stream to SANParks, because we would be prepared to pay !!!!
