Be among the first guests at Skukuza Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park and enjoy a special New Year’s discount. From 30 December 2019 to 31 January 2020, Kruger lovers will save 20% on stays at the lodge.
Set to open in early 2020, the chic Skukuza Safari Lodge is the newest accommodation offering in the Kruger National Park. It is a 3-star facility offering 4-star service, ideal for nature lovers looking for hotel-style comforts in South Africa’s flagship park. In addition to a gym and swimming pool, the lodge will have its own restaurant and bar facilities.
For Kruger fans who can’t wait to try the lodge, SANParks has good news. Skukuza Safari Lodge will welcome a limited number of guests this year for a special preview. Guests will enjoy a 20% discount on stays between 30 December 2019 and 31 January 2020 as part of a soft launch for the lodge.
“In preparation for an official opening early next year, SANParks is using this period as a test phase and is inviting guests to provide constructive feedback in preparation for the full launch,” said Hapiloe Sello, Managing Executive: Tourism Development and Marketing.
During this initial period, the lodge’s restaurant and catering will not be available, but guests can avail themselves of the Cattle Baron in Skukuza Rest Camp.

Inside Skukuza Safari Lodge
Kruger lovers can find comfort and convenience in a stylish setting at Skukuza Safari Lodge. Expect king-size beds or spacious twins, as well as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, bar fridge and bathroom with walk-in shower. Each room has a private patio with table and chairs while eight luxury suites also have a lounge area.
With 128 rooms in total, the lodge can cater to large groups and was developed to operate in conjunction with the adjacent conference centre. After all, what could be more idyllic than fitting in a game drive between conference sessions?
The use of safari vehicles and the limited footprint of the lodge mean that more visitors can discover Kruger without crowding its roads and rest camps. These facilities will secure vital income for conservation going forward. In keeping with SANParks’ conservation principles, Skukuza Safari Lodge was constructed following green building practices and within the framework of international best practice.
