The Kgalagadi is well known as a wildlife photographer’s dream. Albert Froneman is a photographer who enjoys this park for its bird life but says, “For big-game photography the roads along the dry Nossob and Auob riverbeds offer superb opportunities. Nothing beats the sight of a Kalahari lion in the early morning golden light.”
Mike Cary visited the park in August on another glorious Kgalagadi day. Here are his photos:
Mike says:
“We were travelling between Nossob and Twee Rivieren looking for the lions that had kept us up for most of the night. Around a corner we spotted this lioness with her two small cubs walking down the road towards us. She was very relaxed and eventually lay down under the shade of a tree to allow the cubs to drink.”
