Situated in the central uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park, Highmoor offers varied scenery of mountains, grasslands and streams. As part of the Mkhomazi Wilderness Area, the reserve boasts a huge array of rare, endemic and endangered species. Visitors return regularly to enjoy the incredible sense of freedom emanating from the landscape and the chance to go trout fishing.

Highmoor is located way up in the mountains, so not only is the drive there vertiginous, but the views from the top are unrivalled. Most people go to Highmoor for its two world-class trophy trout dams. The fish here are big.
