
Under an hour’s drive north of Durban lies this little gem of a reserve. Located on the Thukela River near the mouth, the reserve has a variety of indigenous thornveld which attracts 114 species of butterflies and 200 species of birds. Don’t miss the ‘Muthi’ trail, one of the nature walks that explains about the traditional medicinal uses of plants.
