The struggle to protect our rhinos rests largely on the shoulders of rangers in the Kruger National Park. The SANParks Honorary Rangers have joined forces with Black Bean Production to produce a short film highlighting the rangers’ valiant efforts.
The short documentary, From the frontline: Saving our rhino, aims to raise funds for counter-poaching efforts in Kruger, where 90% of the world’s rhino population occurs. Every day hundreds of rangers risk their lives to defend our precious rhinos. But public funding is necessary to ensure their success. Funds raised by the SANParks Honorary Rangers make important training possible and provide for essential equipment.
The SANParks Honorary Rangers is one of South Africa’s leading conservation NGOs and has been recognised by the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) for their contribution to counter-rhino poaching in SA’s national parks. Among all the non-government South African initiatives, they have provided the lion’s share of support for counter-poaching activities.
