As the third largest dam in KwaZulu-Natal, Chelmsford (or Ntshingwayo) is perfect for water sports like water skiing and angling. It’s also a protected area with great game viewing opportunities.
- Fishing for scalies and carp in Ntshingwayo Dam
- The largest population of the rare oribi antelope in South Africa
- Camping on the banks of the dam
Because there are no dangerous large animals, Chelmsford can be explored along serene hiking trails. We sat looking over the dam at the stars while braaing with a relaxing drink.
