Just outside Mopani, in the Kruger National Park, Lance Abramson and his family had the fortune of coming across a cheetah and a leopard.
“The two had a bit of a territorial run in,” says Lance. “Lucky for us, right next to the road!” Find out who wins – is it the cheetah or the leopard?
The cheetah chased the leopard up a tree and then waited for him until he decided to come down. Eventually the cheetah moved away but when the leopard came down instead of turning the other way he walked straight into the cheetah.
Never mind the lions, this cheetah is king!
There was a lot of growling and other cat noises and then the leopard ran away. With the leopard’s escape, the cheetah proceeded to mark the tree and the surrounding area, clearly showing that he’s the boss!
Photographs and text by Lance Abramson. Lance used a Nikon D7000 and the lens was a Sigma, 150-500mm, f 5/6.3
