The king of the jungle has to work hard to get fed, with a reported hunting success rate of no more than 30%. Find out more about when, where and how lions hunt in a talk by Dr Sze-Wing Yiu, post-doctoral fellow at the University of the Witwatersrand.
For humans, getting food means stopping at the supermarket. For lions, it means working out the location of prey, the best time to hunt and the most successful strategies for catching prey. Dr Sze-Wing Yiu has been studying how lions stake out their territories and how prey respond. Join us for a talk to learn more about the research being conducted into lions’ hunting behaviour and what it means for conservation science.
