Beautifully constructed and as ecologically pure as they are aesthetically pleasing, these pretty beehive huts envelop you in their soothing embrace. A spotless and pared down interior blends seamlessly with the sweet-smelling grass dome. You’ll find everything you need, plus the pleasant surprise of an en-suite bathroom. The huts are arranged in a circle within a reed kraal fence, giving you the cosy feel of a real village. A stay here is a Swazi experience to treasure – once you’ve figured out whether to go bum first or head first through the (authentically low) entrance.
Mlilwane certainly is an adventurer’s playground, but also much more than that. It’s a sanctuary where wild animals and humans live in harmony.

Basotho Cultural Village
Golden Gate Highlands National Park
Imagine spending the night in a luxurious rondavel set within an 18th century Basotho village. This unique rest camp in Golden Gate combines the charm of a historic hamlet with modern-day comforts. And during your stay, you can even embark on a museum tour to experience traditional Sotho culture or learn more about medicinal plants from the village healer. The fully-equipped and comfortable rondavels offer incredible views of Golden Gate’s distinctive sandstone koppies and some of the best plains game sightings. At the end of the day, gather in the communal braai lapa and share traditional stories, passed down from generation to generation.
With pure mountain air, endless views and several hiking trails, Golden Gate is a weekend destination to revitalise body and soul.
