Lions return to the Karoo
Eben Human, editor of Die Burger’s Buite, was present at the historical moment when a pride of eight lions were released into the Karoo National Park on Wednesday the 10th of November. The four mature lions are originally from the Kgalagadi, but were relocated to Addo in 2003 where the cubs were born.

A notice to all Wild Card members

Earlier this year a fire swept through Agulhas National Park, burning 15 000 ha of pristine land.

Meet the emerald fruit chafer
This little beetle grows to about 24 mm in length, so you'll have to look carefully to spot one. The emerald fruit chafer (Rhabdotis aulica) is common in the northern half of South Africa.
