Unique Wild line-up for Summer 2012/13
Photograph: Bridgena BarnardHeading south? Heading north? No matter where you’re holidaying in December, the summer issue of Wild magazine will whet your appetite to travel. Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store. By Romi Boom.
To visit our amazing parks and reserves over the holiday season, get your Wild Card today! Our epic road trip from the Cape to Kruger and back via KZN will show you wild places to explore. We go walking in pristine wilderness, from the jeep tracks of Kogelberg Nature Reserve (a must-read) to the shipwreck shores of Cape Point in Table Mountain National Park (another highlight).

Can you guess the places that made it onto our shortlist of special stays? We reveal our favourite tented camp, bush lodge, riverside cottage and mountain retreat.
We have a contender for the title of “ultimate photographic destination”… and after many hours of looking at gorgeous landscapes, we selected our top three vistas, a tough choice from a country of big skies.
Off-roaders will be surprised to read about our photographers’ adventures in a dry riverbed and along a zig-zag mountain trail. For those who feel like packing some exercise into your summer break – don’t miss our lineup of parks where you will have an unforgettable time on your bike.
In our wildlife and conservation articles we go underground, and even under the water. Can you learn to love/like/understand the fascinating inhabitants of the world less seen?
As a final treat: the next issue of Wild features dramatic photographs of predators. We can’t wait to share our magazine with you.
