Map Guide: Cederberg

We are very excited about the launch of two new map guides for the Cederberg. The two guides, Cederberg Wolfberg and Cederberg Sneeuberg, are must-haves for hikers and visitors to this beautiful area.
The guides have been compiled by Blue Mountain Publishing in collaboration with CapeNature and include a photographically illustrated map. Top quality photographs show the various hiking routes and a variety of pictures depict different areas along the way.
Hikers will have no problem figuring out what walks to do from the descriptions detailing each walking route. You’ll also find interesting facts on the geology, history, flora and fauna, as well as emergency information and suggestions on what you’ll need to take along.
The map guides fold out into A2 size but once folded back are small enough to fit in your pocket. Each guide is double sided and comes in full colour.
Cost: R20
The maps are available at the following outlets: V&A Waterfront (information desk), Cableway station, Kirstenbosch, Kalk Bay Books, Wordsworth Books, Readers Warehouse, Orca, Drifters as well as at CapeNature outlets and outlets in the Cederberg district.
Tony Lourens of Blue Mountain Publishing shares his favourite spots in the Cederberg:
A must see at Wolfberg is: The Wolfberg Cracks and Arch
The highlight of the Sneeuberg is: The Maltese Cross
A special time to visit: The Cederberg is special at any time of the year, but I suppose flower season (August to September) is pretty (but still very cold), otherwise early summer is also good.
Serious hikers and climbers will enjoy mountain vistas of unspeakable beauty and rock walls as good as anywhere in the world.
