Addo lions impress
Imagine our surprise when we woke up the next morning with two lionesses and a male drinking at the waterhole right in front of our bungalow. We have known about the Addo lions since their introduction into the park... However even though my wife and I go there on a regular basis we have never been lucky enough to see one.
With the rugby test in Port Elizabeth approaching, my brother-in-law had flown in earlier from the UK to attend the test. I had booked us into Addo’s main camp bungalows but it unfortunately rained on our first day.
Imagine our surprise when we woke up the next morning with two lionesses and a male drinking at the waterhole right in front of our bungalow. We decided to try and get a closer look at them from the hide in front of the restaurant. That’s when we came across the second male lion over a kill meters from the boundary fence.
By 9:45 am they had dragged the leftovers from the kill into the shade and were out of sight within an hour.
