A special sighting in Kruger

Out of the bush a mother leopard appeared with two teeny cubs and crossed the road in front of us.

Wild Card member Coraleyne Dormer recently visited the Kruger National Park where she got to see a very special interaction between a mother leopard and her cubs.

A visit to the Kruger Park offered us a rare sighting of a mother leopard and her cubs. We were about five kilometers outside Lower Sabie on the Crocodile Bridge road and were the only car visible on the road. Out of the bush a mother leopard appeared with two teeny cubs and crossed the road in front of us. One of the cubs stood in the middle of the road growling away. The mother then realised that one of her cubs had been left behind and went back to help it across the road. She eventually managed to move her cubs to the safety of the bush. We can only presume that she was moving them from one spot to another.

We were at the right place at the right time and were very blessed to see this!

And another great mom and baby sighting:

This mother baboon was on her way when her baby noticed that mother had taken off... In no time the baby raced after her and with one leap was saddled on her back!

ian says:What a sighting and a thrill. To see the cubs is very special. So lucky that you were the only car to see it and this gave the mother time to cross the road without been boxed in. Thank you for sharing the photos. I believe in the luck of the draw, right time , right place.
