South Africa’s great white sharks are legendary predators that trace their origins back to about 14 million years – but will they see the next century? 

New research by Stellenbosch University concludes that the sharks in our waters might be heading for extinction. With low numbers and a limited gene pool, South Africa’s great whites are at risk. Join us for a talk by Dr Sara Andreotti and shark conservationist Michael Rutzen as they shed light on the unique sharks in South African waters and what can be done to preserve them.
